My first Spinal surgery was in Feb 2010 not 2011. After all those months of pain I am very grateful not to have nerve pain since Dr Frank has opperated so successfuly!

I highly recommend Dr Frank and his team. He has performed over 8000 spinal operations and he has been doing so for the last 30 years.

After sending my MRI scan via email Dr Frank responded within 48 hours. On recommendation of my aunt and uncle who have both been successfully treated by Dr Frank in the past I decided to go ahead.

Operation date offered was in a weeks time. On arrival at the clinic pre assessment and first consultation where without any unnecessary waiting. Dr Frank is very much to the point and precise in explaining his surgical game plan.

Standard of care and cleanliness is of a very high standard.

I have had previous spinal surgery in Feb 2011 on the NHS in London, UK. After surgery my left foot was partially paralysed, daily sciatica from left buttock going down to my left foot and constant burning feeling especially at night.

After begging the NHS for a follow up MRI scan I was put on the NHS waiting list (3-4 month waiting time) with no guaranteed date as cancellation occur often due to emergencies.

From the day after surgery by Dr Frank I have not had pain in my leg and foot. I have not taken any of the high dose of painkillers I was getting used to taking every day.

I feel very much that I can now recover and look forward to an active life.

I also like to specially thank the nursing team for their care and language skills.

What do you do when you are in a far away country such as, say, Kenya and the doctors tell you to go to Europe for surgery yet you have no idea where to go to?

I did two things: first I looked at comments from former patients such as this one here and then I contacted the doctors and checked on their reaction.

The comments from former patients on Dr Frank's website speak for themselves.
My case is a story like many others: my disc between L4/L5 was pressing on my nerves causing endless pain, inability to stand for more than 1 minute, cramps in leg and toes and walking bent over with a walking stick pausing every 2 minutes as if I were eighty (I'm actually 45). At Cairo airport when walking to my connecting flight I had to ask for a wheelchair as the pain became just unbearable.

So what made me choose Dr Frank? Very simple: he answered to my email within hours! If you give your back into somebody's hands you want to be sure he cares about you and by responding so quickly (unlike any other doctor/clinic I wrote to!!) he showed that he did indeed care.
Secondly he asked the right questions and only by emailing I had the impression he was already examining my condition.

The rest is history: going to Munich, checks, operation, pain and problems gone. I am walking (far too much so to any fellow patient I'd say: take it easy, take your time!) and life has its quality back. As Dr Frank promised I was able to get up barely 18 hours after the operation and one week later I flew back home.

Still any doubts?

Then read this anecdote: my friend (a trained nurse) warned me that German doctors will want to make additional money by sending you to the MRI again. When I showed my MRI pics to Dr Frank he said: "Very good pictures, they wouldn't have been done better here."

Oh, lastly I would like to say a big thanks also to the staff at the Isar Clinic. Under the circumstances they made my stay an absolute pleasure!

Just two and a half weeks ago I was suffering with extremely severe spinal stenosis at L4/L5 level and less severe stenosis at L2/L3. Leading up to the operation the symptoms were so severe and produced so much pain that I could only walk a few metres, I had lost sensation in the soles of my feet, I could not stand long enough to shave in one go, and on the day of the operation I had to travel the 50 metres from the hotel to the Isar Clinic in a wheel chair. The stenosis had become so severe that on the MRI images my spinal cord had effectively disappeared. This fact was confirmed after the operation by Dr Frank, who described it as the most difficult operation he had performed of this type out of the 10,000 he had personally performed or supervised. I am truly glad that such a difficult back ended up in such expert hands

Thanks to Dr Frank's expertise and advanced techniques, now just over two weeks from the operation I have absolutely no pain at all when I stand or walk. I can now walk without stopping to sit for nearly one hour. Only yesterday I stood for 90 minutes preparing a meal for family and friends, whereas 3 weeks ago I could not stand long enough to boil an egg. I can now lie flat on my back again without any pain. Just a month ago I suffered almost unbearable pain in my buttocks, groin and legs, despite a heavy dosage of strong painkillers, whilst lying on my back for the required MRI scans.

I cannot praise and recommend Dr Frank and his entire team enough. The morning following the 4 hour operation, I was able to walk, shave myself in one go, stand for a good length of time without pain and walk around the hospital.

My praise must also include the Isar Clinic and the staff. The clinic is really first class, being excellently equipped, and with very nice rooms for the patients and good food. As for the nursing and physio team who speeded my recovery in the days immediately after the operation, they were all truly fabulous, combining professional expertise with cheerful friendliness. A very big thank you to them for making my stay in the hospital a really pleasant one.

I travelled from Cyprus, not without qualms, to have this operation. The moment I met Dr Frank I felt totally reassured by his pleasant manner and the depth of his knowledge and experience and I had no doubt that there would be a successful outcome. I certainly have not been disappointed - thank you Dr Frank and your team - it was worth the journey many times over.

Just one more word to those travelling to Munich for the first time - my wife, who accompanied me, staying in a hotel, just a 5 minute walk from the hospital, wants to say that she found Munich a wonderful city with the most friendly citizens. And I, who had a wheelchair excursion before the operation, thoroughly agree with her.
